When freshly cut the heartwood of Purpleheart (South America) is a dull grayish/purplish brown. Upon exposure the wood, becomes a deeper eggplant purple. With further age and exposure to UV light, the wood becomes a dark brown with a hint of purple. With this ring we hand turned the purple heart but also combined a section of purple resin in the ring. A purple heart ring is unique, but a purpleheart/resin ring is very special!!! This ring came to a high polish and has a stainless brushed steel core. Water resistant. Size 7.5, 8 mm wide.
